A Tribute To Nelson Mandela From Ambassador Seiple, IRLA President

I used to wonder how South Africa could achieve reconciliation with only a "Truth" commission.  Normally there has to be "Justice" as well, a penalty exacted strong enough so that the past does not repeat itself.  Then I met Mandela, both personally at the White House and vicariously through a visit to his Robben Island cell off the coast of South Africa.  He was the one who bore the penalty, who suffered for sin, who ultimately allowed freedom to emerge through truth.  Some people live off of titles.  With Mandela, it was all about testimony, perhaps the most authentic testimony since our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
