President of the Regional Council of French Guiana Welcomed IRLA Secretary General
On Thursday morning, November 8, 2012, the President of the Regional Council of French Guiana,Dr Rodolphe Alexandre, congratulated the IRLA for its work in defense and promotion of religious freedom around the world. It was the first visit of Dr John Graz, IRLA Secretary General, to French Guiana. Pastors Max Laurent and Frank Miandy, who represent the IRLA in the French Antilles, shared their project of launching an Antilles Religious Liberty Association with a chapter in Guiana. They also plan to organize a congress followed by a Festival of Religious Freedom in 2014.
During his visit, Graz met the mayor of the city of Matoury, Mr Jean-Pierre Theodore Roumillac.
Thursday evening, Graz was interviewed by TV station TGN for a news magazine. He was also interviewed by National Radio RFO for the One O'clock News on Sunday November 11.
A conference was held for a large audience on Saturday afternoon in the auditorium of the Seventh-day Adventist church in Cayenne. The visit of the IRLA delegation corresponded to the launching of Ariane V from the European Space Center in Kourou.
